Infographic Reflection

I found the infographic assignment to be a fun and creative way of expressing my health promotion issue. It was the first time I created an infographic, and the process of development has been both challenging and rewarding. The assignment has given me a greater understanding of infographic presentation and assimilation and has familiarised me with different platforms that can be used for infographic presentation. I created my infographic using Piktochart, and this assignment has exposed and familiarized me with different tools and features of Piktochart. It was a bit challenging at first in trying to understand how to assemble and create the infographic, but through YouTube videos and sample health infographics, I was able to successfully transfer this knowledge to my own creation. As a student, I have always struggled with learning how to present my work briefly and concisely as I tend to repeat facts without considering if they have been previously mentioned in a different form or manner. This assignment has given me additional practice in learning how to present work briefly, and I feel more confident in writing assignments without fear of losing marks due to unnecessary detail. Health-related knowledge spread is essential to the work of public health educators, and I strongly believe that the learnings from the infographic assignment will be beneficial to my future career as I can use the skills gained to spread health information to the public in the form of creative and original infographics (Goodwin University, 2022).
